Learn to Row

New members are welcome any time at Horsham City Rowing Club, though people who are new to the sport will be directed to our Learn to Row program first.

Prospective and Visitor Membership

We also welcome prospective members with previous rowing experience.  The Club offers a temporary membership before becoming a full member, or for those who are visiting the Wimmera area for a short period of time.

Full Membership

The Club offers a range of membership types, from competitive to recreational.

The membership year for the Club is from the 1st May to the 30th April. New members joining after 31st December may be entitled to pay a pro-rata membership however conditions apply.

To join the Horsham City Rowing Club you will need to complete a Membership Application Form and have it proposed and seconded by a current member. Your application is then presented at a Committee Meeting to be reviewed and passed.

Membership Categories 

SENIOR COMPETITIVE MEMBERSHIP

  • Includes members nineteen (19) years of age and over and entitled to vote
  • Offers full use of the Club’s facilities and equipment in accordance with the Club’s Rules and Regulations
  • Subject to confirmation by the Committee, able to store private shells in the clubhouse
  • Is open to senior members who wish to compete and represent the Club at regattas

SENIOR RECREATIONAL MEMBERSHIP

  • Includes members nineteen (19) years of age and over and entitled to vote
  • Offers use of the Club’s facilities and equipment in accordance with the Club’s Rules and Regulations
  • Subject to confirmation by the Committee, able to store private shells in the clubhouse
  • Cannot represent the Club at regattas

JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP

  • Offers full use of the Club’s facilities and equipment in accordance with the Club’s Rules and Regulations
  • Shall be under the age of nineteen (19) years on the first of January each year and not entitled to vote.  An under 19 guardian has automatic Associate membership.  The guardian has no voting rights at an AGM or Special General Meeting but can be elected to Committee with Committee voting rights
  • Is open to junior members who wish to compete and represent the Club at regattas

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

  • Includes members nineteen (19) years of age and over and not actively rowing
  • They have no voting rights at an AGM or Special General Meeting but can be elected to committee with Committee voting rights
  • Offers limited use of the Club’s facilities and equipment in accordance with the Club’s Rules and Regulations
  • Cannot represent the Club at regattas and/or store private shells in the Clubhouse (unless at the Committee’s discretion)

COXSWAINS

  • Coxswains are automatic members with no fee applicable, (19) years and over are entitled to vote.
